The INTERNal Perspective of Marketing Intern Ishan Prasad

Marketing intern Ishan Prasad shares his internal perspective working at 1-800-FLOWERS.COM. Hear how he has contributed to the Marketing team and how he has learned from his summer internship:

Ishan Prasad, Marketing Intern“With a specialized degree such as ?Financial Engineering?, there weren’t many choices for a career path. After interviewing with my supervisor for a mobile marketing internship position, I was able to extend my horizon, skill-set and logic to one of the most dynamic fields ? mobile marketing at 1-800-FLOWERS.COM.

” Over the course of my internship, I have progressed from a ?data grabber? to a data analyst. Thanks to my manager, I was able to work on analyzing marketing strategies aimed at new initiatives for the company. Being an avid programmer, I was able to deepen my knowledge into SAS and SQL, which are at the forefronts of data analysis. My managers/colleagues were kind enough to allocate time from their busy schedules and explain new concepts which were tough to understand on my own (on one occasion, my manager spent over an hour explaining these concepts). Most of all, my projects add real value to the team and company. As an intern I couldn’t ask more than to learn and be challenged to realize my potential.
