My title is VP of Technology for BloomNet, Napco and 1-800-Flowers Franchising. I’ve been with the company for 8 years or so. What I like best about my job is getting to work with my peers in BloomNet. We have the strongest
leadership team in the company!
1-800-Flowers’ main mission is to deliver smiles. What about being a Dad makes you smile?
Plain and simply, the kids.
Watching them grow and learn is an amazing experience. Watching them develop the same quirks you have, not so much!
My father has always demonstrated unwavering commitment to his wife, children and family. He is an honorable man whom I have always admired from a young age.
At 1-800-Flowers we’re all about creating truly original arrangements. What makes your kid(s) truly original?
Jake, 7: A big kid at heart and in size, Jake is truly the big brother. He sets the perfect example in academics, athletics and behavior for his siblings to follow. He enjoys science, hockey, baseball, karate and living room wrestling.
Max, 5: With open heart surgery behind him this past January, Max is running full steam ahead in baseball, hockey and life! Mom thinks his cute face is needed to keep himself out of trouble with teachers and girls!
Luke, 2 1/2: When he’s smiling, you’re smiling! Luke is just looking to have fun and play.
Kate, 1 1/2: With 3 older brothers, Kate is well protected from outsiders but has her hands full fending off the mob at feeding time!
Since this is our special Father’s Day edition of the Employee Spotlight, what do you like most about Father’s Day?
Not feeling guilty that I’m not helping out with the dishes!
What is your favorite Father’s Day gift from 1-800-Flowers and why?
Cheryl’s cookies. I’m a sweets junkie at heart!
What about your dad means/meant the most to you?
Commitment. My father has always demonstrated unwavering commitment to his wife, children and family. He is an honorable man whom I have always admired from a young age.
Tell us your favorite dad story.
With 4 young kids, each of their births is still fresh in my mind. You can’t surpass the joy of watching your children being born.
What is your favorite flower or plant and why?
So here it is, I very much enjoy gardening. Most people seem shockingly surprised by this, but it’s true. Growing potatoes was one of the more fun things I had in the garden. It’s not something most people grow so it was a fun challenge. As far as flowers, hydrangeas are my favorite. They’re hardy plants that remind my wife of vacations on Cape Cod!
