How long have you been with the company?
Almost a year.
What do you like best about your job?
Every day is a different design and a potential smile for someone in the future.
1-800-Flowers’ main mission is to deliver smiles. What about being a Mom makes you smile?
Hearing the words “Mom” from my kids makes me smile, whether it’s through a giggle or cry. Knowing they call out “Mom” for anything makes me smile from the inside out.
At 1-800-Flowers we’re all about creating truly original arrangements. What makes your kid(s) truly original?
My son Cole just turned 7. He is fun, loves sports and has a generous heart. He is so kind-hearted wherever he is, even on the sports field. He will stop in the middle of his lacrosse or soccer game to help a fellow teammate or an opposing player up to make sure they are ok, before running back into a play.
Emily is 1 1/2. She is full of energy and loves to laugh. She loves her big brother and Elmo. Whenever she thinks it is a nice day she immediately runs to the back door shouting “Weeee…” and pointing to her swing set. She loves to play outside.
My mom has an even bigger place in my heart now that she is devoting her days to watching our two children while my husband and I work.
Since this is our special Mother’s Day edition of the Employee Spotlight, what do you love most about Mother’s Day?
What I think makes Mother’s Day so special is seeing how my husband “conspires” with the kids to make the day special and to treat me so well. It’s amazing to see how thoughtful they can be right down to the little details.
What is your favorite Mother’s Day gift from 1-800-Flowers and why?
I love the abundance of Pink Perfection. It’s as though it is a big hug in a vase.
“MOM Means So Much” is our Mother’s Day motto. What about your mom means/meant the most to you?
My mom has an even bigger place in my heart now that she is devoting her days to watching our two children while my husband and I work. She reads with them, plays with them, teaches them…all of the things that are so very important growing up.
What is your favorite flower or plant and why?
My favorite flower and plant is the hydrangea. It is so vibrant and delicate at the same time, just like our kids. When they start to wilt, all they need is water and they perk right back up. Just what a hug can to for any of us!
