Planner , Direct Floral Location: Carle Place, NY Position Type: Full-Time
Planning
Develop bottom-up demand plans for Direct Floral by floral component- plan projections by month and by week for peak holiday time periods. Plans should meet category defined deadlines.
Prepare item plans and projections by quarter according to timeline requirements.
Prepare monthly category buy plans by floral component code
Create and maintain category trackers, holiday sales and capacity trackers by component code for floral and hard goods.
Document YOY sales per week and listing Top 10 product weekly performance.
Distribute buy plan (projections) by month /quarter to Procurement meeting defined deadlines.
Distribute pre-books (projections) by quarter to Procurement meeting defined deadlines.
Monthly merchandise and GM forecast prepared for finance meeting according to defined deadlines.
Review and analyze current departmental sales and history for developing statistical trends.
Report weekly unit and revenue sales and gross margin YOY vs. PLAN by sub-category to assess weekly actual sales versus projected plan sales.
Work with POD to develop quarterly assortment plan and identify key product items and sub-categories.

Key Product Analysis
Supervise inventory managers relative to responsibilities and tasks referenced:
Daily monitoring to adjust inventory availability or thresholds to reduce stock outs and maximize sales velocity.
Weekly hard good and floral inventory adjustments by vendor and by component.
Communicate with vendors on daily basis on reported shortages or overages of hard goods and floral.
Monitor hard good availability to be sure that trend and demand are met.
Manage movement of unfulfilled orders with VR to move product orders between vendors to minimize lost sales and maximize least cost routing. Initiate "VR Move" request form.
Track receivables and transfers of hard goods in Oracle.
Manage floral and hard good receipts
Communicate need for weekly floral back-up
Submit Requisitions for hard good purchases
Education / Experience
Degree in business, merchandising, accounting or related field.
3 to 5 experience in merchandise planning required.
Experience in direct marketing, catalog, online retailing required.
Skills
Strong analytical and planning ability and attention to detail.
Advanced Excel required and experience using high-end planning and operating systems.
Must work effectively cross-functionally
Ability to thrive in a dynamic and changing environment.
Independent Actions
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and projects at the same time.
Must be a self-starter and take action as necessary.
