Director-Voice Engineering / Telecommunications
Location: Westbury, NY

Responsibilities

Senior Voice Engineer:

  • Responsible for hands-on senior level technical architecture, implementation and support of our Genesys infrastructure. This includes working with our development and network engineering teams as needed.
  • Responsible for hands-on senior level technical architecture, implementation and support of our Acme Packet Session Border Controls. This includes working with our network engineering teams as needed.
  • Responsible for hands-on senior level technical architecture, implementation and support of our Avaya (Session Manager, Communication Manager, Voice Portal, G860, CMS) infrastructure. This includes working with development and network engineering teams as needed.
  • Responsible for hands-on senior level technical architecture, implementation and support of our inbound toll free carrier network. This includes working with network engineering and carriers as needed.
  • Familiarity with the following a plus:
    • Pipkins
    • Kana
    • LivePerson
    • SAS
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Candidate must be able to take complex technical designs and "map" them to business needs. This includes being able to effectively communicate in "business" terminology.

Telecommunications Manager:

  • Manage all "voice services" enterprise-wide. This includes effectively managing all PBX's, key-systems and individual phones.
  • Manage two Telecommunication Analyst direct reports.
  • Act as the primary POC with all the carriers.
  • Directly facilitate any related escalations.
  • Effectively manage our Telecommunications inventory to ensure we are only paying for services we are using/need.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Telecommunications, Computer Science or related major preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years hands-on Genesys engineering/development experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years hands-on Avaya call center administration/engineering experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years hands-on Telecommunications experience with all aspects of "voice" and "data" networks.
  • Demonstrated ability to completely manage a project from thought to completion. This includes managing stake holder expectations and ensuring the project completes on time and on budget.
  • Excellent oral and written skills

Reports To: Vice President - Operations

Hours:

  • 9AM-6PM Monday - Friday*
    This position will be required to be on-call for after-hour support as needed.
  • *Hours may change during holiday busy season.
