Manager, E-Commerce Marketing | Fannie May Confections Brands, Inc.
Location: Melrose Park, IL


Fannie May Confections Brands, Inc. is looking for an exceptional Manager, E-Commerce Marketing. In this role, you will be responsible for day-to-day management of the company's email and marketing programs that drive e-commerce sales for Fannie May. This position will be responsible for helping to develop and execute the e-commerce marketing strategy, including the implementation of new marketing programs and enhancement of existing programs to drive sales. This position requires the ability to work cross functionally, especially as the main liaison between Marketing, IT, Merchandise and other required departments. You will manage the strategy, execution and analysis of email marketing, catalog mailings, public relations and overall marketing promotions. You will work closely with our web content/design, graphic design and merchandise/product development teams to create effective marketing vehicles to drive and grow the business.

Job Responsibilities

  • Email
    • Assist with development of, and manage the implementation of email segmentation strategy
    • Working with the analytics team and tools, provide regular reports on email performance; provide suggestions on ways to optimize the email campaigns/segments
    • Increase customer activation and retention rates within the email channel
    • Manage the execution of email campaigns to drive the business and meet revenue targets and overall budget – including coordination with ESP and use of the campaign management tool
    • Partner with creative and web content teams to design email and communication templates, develop images, content, promos, and landing pages for email marketing campaigns
    • Champion best practices with key stakeholders ensuring vested interest in the success of email marketing campaigns
    • Create and manage monthly email schedules
  • Catalog & Direct Mail
    • Partner with various external vendors to secure quotes for all print pieces
    • Develop creative and print schedules
    • Coordination of photography needs
    • Coordinate the quoting and ordering of paper and printing services for all campaigns and ensure budget goals are adhered to
    • Assist with communicating creative direction on marketing materials (such as gift list package program, PIP's, FSI's, bind-ins, etc.)
    • Develop seasonal package inserts and offers; report results, and provide optimization suggestions on a regular basis
  • General Marketing
    • Provide brand direction, collaborate on strategies and execute marketing tactics and deliverables for the Interactive Marketing team – including search, social, affiliate and retargeting
    • Maintain current and YOY promotion and marketing calendars for all e-commerce marketing channels
    • Holiday planning – ensure holiday marketing plans are developed and prepared well in advance of each holiday and are coordinated with in-store marketing efforts
    • Support internal PR team, and assist with development of PR campaigns, messages, etc.
    • Coordinate sample requests from our PR department, samples for our Town Hall call and any other requests by the media
    • Project tracking, reporting and monitoring of KPIs
    • Leverage database to analyze campaign results, drive segmentation, offer testing, and performance metrics and make recommendations based on the analysis
    • Formulate testing strategies to determine optimal messaging to meet business objectives with A/B testing


  • 5+ years' digital marketing experience, with a minimum 3 years' detailed experience in managing an email marketing program. Specific experience managing development of digital marketing programs to drive e-commerce business, including email and digital marketing best practices
  • BS/BA in Marketing, Business or Communications
  • Experience working with CheetahMail or similar ESP
  • Working knowledge of Unica (or similar campaign management tool), Microsoft Office Suite and all Web browsers
  • Proficiency in using IBM Coremetrics or other third-party tracking program
  • Experience using data to develop actionable insights, strategic direction, and make appropriate refinements
  • Strong troubleshooting, analysis, resolution skills and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects in a fast paced atmosphere is required
  • Required understanding of the detail and knowledge around metrics, specifically A/B testing and ROI analysis
  • Ability to work well within a cross-departmental team framework and drive results
