What is your title and what do you do at 1-800-Flowers? How long have you been with the company? What do you like best about your job? My title is Executive Assistant. I support the CFO of the 1-800-Flowers.com enterprise and the CMO/COO of the 1-800-Flowers.com brand. I’ve been with the company (not counting the 2 years I was away) for approximately 9 years. One of my favorite things about working here are the people I work with. They are by far the most dedicated and hardworking employees I have ever met. The sense of camaraderie around the holidays is an important and vital part of working at 1-800-Flowers. Since this is our special Administrative Professionals Week edition of the Employee Spotlight, what do you love most about your job? Being supportive, trustworthy and respected, while having the ability to assist most employees with their administrative questions. At 1-800-Flowers we’re all about creating truly original arrangements. What is your favorite truly original arrangement to receive for Administrative Professionals Week? I love anything with roses and iris.
One of my favorite things about working here are the people I work with.1-800-Flowers’ main mission is to deliver smiles. What makes you smile at work? A good sense of humor. Tell us your favorite work story. Last year I, among some other employees from 1800Flowers.com, was invited to accompany WBMason, our new office supply vendor, to their private field box at the new CitiField stadium to watch a Mets game. While I dislike all sports, (this is a running joke in my family), my adult daughter is a great fan of the Mets and was delighted to accompany me and get to walk on the field. We were actually shown on the Jumbotron, which gave my boss, who was at the game that day, a good laugh! What is the most valuable thing you have learned about flowers and plants during your time here? That everyone loves them! What is your favorite flower or plant and why? I love the large Sangria Bouquet from our truly original Happy Hour Collection. It’s very original and colorful.
