Meet Rob Santangelo, Manager of Merchandising for Direct Floral

What is your title and what do you do at 1-800-Flowers? Category Manager of Merchandising – Direct Floral. What I like best about my job is that I have the opportunity to enhance the customer experience, allowing them to choose the perfect gift to send their loved ones. Our Christmas motto is to “celebrate Christmas with a smile!” What about Christmas makes you smile? Family, Friends and Eggnog!
My favorite gift I received in recent years was the “Hip Hop Abs” DVD.
What is your favorite Christmas gift to receive? FruitBouquet's Holiday Spirit Fruit Bouquet My favorite gift I received in recent years was the “Hip Hop Abs” DVD. After all of the apple pie and delicious meals, it always feels great to burn off those calories with modern day exercises. I also love to receive our beautifully tasty Fruit Bouquet, Holiday Spirit™. It adds that extra special “yummy” to my tummy! What is your favorite Christmas tradition to make for a truly traditional holiday?  Every Christmas my mother and I bake apple pie with a side of our favorite brand of vanilla ice cream, making for the perfect “pie a la mode” while listening to Mariah Carey’s Christmas album. 1800Flowers is all about holiday decorations. Tell us about your Christmas decorations. Every year we decorate our Christmas tree with unconventional ornaments such as WWE Wrestling action figures, Barbie dolls and small pictures of attractive strangers from Christmas catalogs, male or female. Tell us your favorite Christmas story from Christmas pasts.

Rob Santangelo with his best friends of 20+ years on Christmas.

One year on Christmas Eve, Santa came to my house. Shortly after his arrival, we discovered that the man in the Santa outfit was not actually Santa Claus. It was my Uncle Henry. Although I was disappointed at first, I soon realized that the real Santa was probably still at the North Pole gathering my gifts for delivery that night. Although this was 3 years ago, I remember it like it was last night. I will always cherish that fond Christmas memory.
