I love, love, love DIY gifts for Mother’s Day — both giving and receiving them! There’s just something about a handmade treasure that is so meaningful. In fact, one of my most cherished keepsakes is a crayon-scribbled note from my son, nestled inside a little red clay pinch pot he crafted (a true masterpiece, in my humble opinion).
This year, I’m on a mission to wow my flower-obsessed mom with something extra special. So, where did I turn for inspiration? TikTok, of course! And let me tell you, 2026 is all about floral flair. From construction paper bouquets to framed poems, I found some seriously creative ways to say “Happy Mother’s Day!” and give mom her flowers.
Here are seven of my favorite trending DIY ideas that are guaranteed to make Mom feel extra loved.
Mother’s Day DIY Gift No. 1: Bouquet Bar
Mother’s Day DIY Gift No. 1: Bouquet Bar
Shop : Mother's Day Radiant Tulips: 30 Stems from 1-800-Flowers.com
Two Dozen Assorted Roses for Mother's Day from 1-800-Flowers.com
Looking for an interactive and creative way to celebrate Mom this Mother’s Day? A DIY “bouquet bar” offers the perfect opportunity to spend a memorable “craft-ernoon” together making beautiful floral arrangements. Simply gather a variety of fresh flower stems, set out a few vases, and let the creativity flow.
To make it even easier, here's a little hack: order the stems online and you’ll have everything you need delivered right to your doorstep.
Once you assemble your bouquets, go literal with the “bar” part and pair your flowers with a matching drink, such as roses and rosé, tulips and tea, or peonies and prosecco. We love a theme!
And while you’re at it, why not make it a celebration? Invite your favorite women — your aunt, sister, or bestie and enjoy the fun together.

Pink Petal Roses from 1-800-Flowers.com
Happy Gerbera Daisies, 12-24 Stems from 1-800-Flowers.com
Looking for a unique twist on the classic bouquet to celebrate Mom? Create flower letters!
I actually made there for a TV segment and was not surprised to see them all over Tik Tok (they're also the inspiration for the Magnificent Roses Preserved Beautiful MOM gift).
Not only are they an easy DIY gift, but they also make a big impression. Plus, you can display them in so many ways: as a centerpiece, on a mantel or a bookshelf, or even hanging on the wall or front door.
Start by picking up cardboard or metal letters from your local craft store. If you’re using fresh flowers, cut pieces of floral foam to fit the back of each letter (be sure to soak the foam in water before placing it inside the letters). Trim the stems down to one inch long and begin inserting them into the foam. Just like that, you’ve got a gorgeous flower letter!
Almost any flower works beautifully, but i recommend you go for a single variety like roses, Gerbera daisies, or carnations (my fave super-affordable flower). But you can always mix it up with assorted blooms from a bountiful bouquet.
For faux flowers, you can skip the foam and use hot glue to secure the stems instead.

Moms will tell you with certainty that there’s nothing more moving than a poem written just for them. This is hands down the easiest gift to make on this list: all you need is a frame, paper, some cute markers or pens, love for Mom, and the ability to put that into words. It doesn’t matter how confident you are as a writer — she will cherish this FOREVER.

Mother’s Day DIY Gift No. 4: Handmade Cookbook
Mother’s Day DIY Gift No. 4: Handmade Cookbook
She’s the best chef ever, and the perfect way to let her know is to make a cookbook documenting her greatest hits. Find a notebook, journal, or binder that matches her kitchen’s aesthetic and get to brainstorming all your favorite meals of hers and why you love them. Peruse your photo albums and see if you can find any pictures to include of her in the kitchen or the specific dishes. If not, a drawing of each will bring tears to her eyes.
And make sure to leave enough of the book blank so she can fill it with her own recipes as her repertoire expands.
This is the perfect last-minute gift for moms who love to cook and bake. All you need is a blank notebook, a pen, and memories of her cooking.

Shop : Filled with Love Note Jar from 1-800-Flowers.com
The ultimate DIY gift that anyone can make, regardless of resources or artistic skill, is a memory jar. Here’s a step-by-step guide for her favorite gift that you can make in under 30 minutes.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- A jar with a lid
- Colorful, unruled index cards
- Glitter glue pens
- Safety scissors
- Take 20 index cards of different colors and cut them in half.
- On each one, write a memory or thing you love about Mom. It can be something specific like your favorite meal she made, something general like going to the store with her, or just how much you love her hugs.
- Fold up each of the memories so more of them can fit in the jar.
- Decorate the outside of the jar using the glitter pens. You can create hearts, stripes that wrap around the whole jar, writer “MOM,” or just anything you think she’d like.
- If you want to make her really happy, write a message on the inside of the jar lid.
- Once the glue on the jar has dried, put all of the folded-up memories in the jar, and put the lid back on. If you haven’t used up all your glitter glue, write her a little message on top of the jar.
