I’m excited to be spotting Dee from the blog Two of a Kind, Working on a Full House. Dee is a Traditional Mom.
Dee is all about her children and what is best for them. I am sure that reading to her children is a special time for her and that she would encourage all parents to make this a priority. Coming from the world of retail, Dee knows the power of merchandising to communicate a message. This Poky Little Puppy container holds a vibrant mix of garden blooms that would look perfect in a home that values the beauty of nature, the importance of books, and the love of children.
I made the container by scanning an old copy of the classic Golden Book, The Poky Little Puppy, and sizing it to fit the container I was using – in this case a square vase. I also scanned the side of the book and repeated that image a number of times to make it look like the flowers were arranged in the middle of a stack of books. You could also scan a few different book covers and put them on each side of your vase/container.
Q&A with Dee from Two of a Kind, Working on a Full House
What is the greatest lesson your mom has taught you?
To be nice to everyone. To give whatever you can to the less fortunate and to do/say things to make other people feel good.
What’s one lesson you hope to pass on to your children?
I want them to live life to the fullest. To reach for the stars and know that they always have my love and support.
What’s your favorite Mother’s Day memory?
I would for sure say it was my first Mother’s Day. I got all teary eyed just thinking of what it meant to really be a mother and how it felt to love someone else that much.
