I was inspired to design this piece that a favorite buyer from a catalog that I worked with had requested. She herself was adopted and wanted to have a piece to celebrate the gift that is adoption. At the time I made it. I actually had a friend who was working for three years to adopt a little boy from Africa. So there was a lot of that energy around me at the time. The hand cut out plants on the cover represent the Mother and Daughter. The larger flora is extended to cover and protect the little baby plant that is reaching upwards. I think of it as shelter from the rains. Of course, It is not limited to adoption.This necklace can definitely just be a special gift for a much loved daughter.
