My wife and I share the same values as many military families. We’re loyal to each other and strive to be selfless with our loved ones. After returning from Iraq in 2006, I learned from my brother that my mother wasn’t the same after I left, bowed with continuous worry, he said. She attended religious services multiple times a week, unusual for her, praying for my safe arrival home. He said she, more than anyone else, was whom I should thank for her unwavering thoughts and prayers. I can never repay her for that love.
